In the middle of Stockholm is Hotel Mornington (Mornington site), in Nybrogatan 53. It’s a nice hotel, with friendly staff, clean rooms and a good breakfast buffet.
Room 514 is a tiny room. But hey, I only needed a place to sleep and clean up. The bed was good, and even if it’s in the middle of the city, I slept well until my mobile got me up.

The bathroom was strange. Brownish colors and when showering, all the floor gets wet. I don’t like showering inside a bathtub, and I think hotels should throw out bathtubs in half of their rooms and just put in a really good shower. Or a steam shower. But – the bathroom was very clean, and lots of hot water.

The room includes a breakfast buffet. Extra points for the selection of cereals, and the sliced fresh fruit to put with them. Made me go several hours. When eating, you are sitting in a library of 4 000 books, and you can borrow books from the library to your room. Just ask. And the owner recommends a new book every week.

Behind this picture, you’ll find a hotelroomsecret. It’s a recommendation for a very good restaurant only about 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Or 3 minutes by taxi. With both fish and meat, and a great wine selection.
